Givskud Church
In the village of Givskud, you will find the beautiful Givskud Church.
The oldest parts of this whitewashed church date back to the Romanesque period.
Like most medieval churches, Givskud Church originally had two entrance doors, positioned on the north and south sides of the western end of the nave. The northern door is now bricked up but can still be faintly seen from the outside. The southern door opposite is still in use, though in a modified version.
The church’s oldest furnishing is the Romanesque baptismal font, adorned with carved lions.
The village of Givskud is perhaps best known for Givskud Zoo, so if you want to see real lions, the zoo is just a short walk away.
At the Grave House, associated with Givskud Church, you will also find a Hærvejen stamp. It is mounted on the eastern gable, facing a path that leads down to a green area.
