At 103 meters above sea level, Sønderkol is the highest point in Rebild Bakker
At the top of Sønderkol you will find one of Denmark's most beautiful views. When you have reached the top of Sønderkol, you stand 103 meters above sea level, and can see right down to Lindenborg Å at the bottom of Gravlev Ådal.
There are few places in Denmark where you experience so many meters of altitude in such a short distance. Enjoy magnificent views of the beautiful, hilly landscape.
Sønderkol is a so-called "false hill" as it is created by deep meltwater channels that were formed just after the Ice Age. Rebild Bakker should therefore instead be seen as a "hole" into the ground - as opposed to hills that "tower" out of the landscape. But regardless is impressive and forms the altitude meters that Rebild Bakker is famous for.
Sønderkol is part of Rebild Bakker Ruten, where you start by hiking up Sønderkol. From the top, you can see "The Pot", where the Rebild Festival is held on July 4 in celebration of the American Independence Day.
Sønderkol is located in the immediate vicinity of RebildPorten, where you can also park.
